The Coles Nurture Fund

The Coles Nurture Fund helps small Australian food and grocery producers, farmers and manufacturers to innovate and grow their business.

The Coles Nurture Fund will allocate $50 million over five years in grants and interest-free loans to fund the development of new market-leading products, technologies, systems and processes.

The grants aim to support small business and creating more productive and innovative ways of working with food.

Australian International Education: Enabling Growth and Innovation Program

In 2016, the Australian Government announced funding of $3 million per year for the Australian International Education: Enabling Growth and Innovation Program.

For 2017-18, the program provides eligible organisations with grants of up to $250,000 to help implement the National Strategy for International Education 2025, which enables Australia’s international education sector to be more innovative, future-focused and globally engaged.

Successful applicants will deliver big picture projects that develop Australia’s role as a global leader in education, training and research; and that benefit the broader International Education community.

Women and Leadership Australia​: Farming and Agricultural Sector development funding

All women currently employed in the Australian farming and agricultural sectors are eligible to apply for scholarship funding, for participation in a range of leadership courses.

The grants will cover a percentage of the total program fee and are allocated with the intent of providing powerful and effective development opportunities for women within the farming and agriculture industry.

The ANZ Staff Foundation Community Grants

The ANZ Staff Foundation is funded by regular contributions made by ANZ staff and ANZ.

The Foundation provides grant funding up to $5,000 for community projects, and in addition, ANZ staff will volunteer their time and skills to support the projects.

Projects must address issues in the following areas:

  • Education and employment
  • Urban and rural economic and social divides
  • Financial capability
  • Urban sustainability

Preference will be given to organisations and projects that provide opportunities for ANZ staff to participate.

Rural Junior Doctor Training Innovation Fund

The Rural Junior Doctor Training Innovation Fund aims to foster the development of innovative rural-based junior doctors with a training period in a rural primary care setting, such as a General Practice or an Aboriginal Medical Service. 

Available to successful applicants Australia-wide, funding will commence in 2018 and will cease on 30 June 2021.

The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal Back to School Program

The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) Back to School (BTS) initiative is  a national program and is part of the Rural Education Australia Program.

The program is funded by various Trusts and Foundations and helps rural, regional and remote students to access quality educational experiences.  Gift vouchers are provided to successful applicants, which are redeemable for items such as school uniforms, clothing, shoes, school bags and stationery items necessary to start the school year.

The Cory Charitable Foundation Grant

The privately funded Cory Charitable Foundation contributes to the growth and well-being of a number of Queensland-based charities and institutes; and are offering a one-off 5 million dollar grant to mark the Foundation's 25th anniversary.

The grant is to be used for a new building construction or the extension or redevelopment of an existing building and can be added to other funds for a larger development.

Land required for this project will be supplied by the recipient and the building's form and purpose is to be at the discretion of the recipient

National Landcare Program Smart Farming Partnerships

The Australian Government has established the Smart Farming Partnerships grant program to trial new technology and tools and create more profitable and productive farming, fishery, aquaculture and forestry industries.

The grants are available to experienced and skilled organisations working in partnership to undertake projects to develop, trial and implement new and innovative tools that support the uptake of sustainable practices and protect our greatest Australian resources.

Marketing Tasmania Grants

Events Tasmania has announced they will provide matched funding to large and small Tasmanian events outside their own region, in an effort to build tourism and gain visitors to their great state.

Matched funding will be provided in two tiers - Successful Tier 1 applicants will receive up to $5,000 matched funding for attracting intrastate visitors, while successful Tier 2 applicants will receive up to $10,000 for bringing in interstate visitors.both large and small events

The Sydney Royal Easter Show Charity Brunch Rural Grant

The Sydney Royal Easter Show Charity Brunch (Wednesday 28th March, 2018) provides grants to grassroots projects in country NSW, to better the community of the chosen areas. 

Funds raised at the brunch will be endowed to a rural, regional or remote initiative or infrastructure that provide on-going benefit to the wider community.

Preference will be given to applications that address one or more of the following areas:

Family Resilience
Multicultural Diversity
Youth and Education
Primary Production
Health and Wellbeing

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAwards

The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) iAwards recognise and reward the technology innovations that have the potential to, or are already having a positive impact on the community whether at home, in the office and on a global scale; and the impressive people beghind them.

iAwards crowns State or Territory winners and merit recipients, who then move on to the National iAwards Final held in Melbourne in August.

The 2017 Travel Grant Series: Women in STEM

The Campus Travel and Virgin Australia Travel Grant Series (Women in STEM) encourages females in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics to to enrich their area of study or academic work to their professional dream destination.

The grants are open to female employees of Australian universities or research organisations, and PHD students, all working with a STEM-related focus.

NSW Office of Sport, Local Sport Grant Program

Sport and active recreation is a vital part of all people's health and wellbeing and the NSW Office of Sport, Local Sport Grant Program aims to assist and encourage everyone to participate.

Funding is available to projects that increase regular and on-going participation in sport or structured physical activity, projects that address barriers to participation in sport or structured physical activity and projects that assist sport clubs provide quality service to their members.

Grants are available in four project categories- Sport Development, Community Sport Event, Sport Access and Facility Development.

The Australian Wool Fashion Awards

The Australian Wool Fashion Awards aim to showcase Merino Wool as the worlds best natural fibre.

There are nine secrtions to be won including The Australian Woolgrower Knitwear Award and the The Virgin Australia Young Designer Award, and are open to various applicants ranging from secondary high school students to established designers.

Rewards include cash prizes, mentoring from industry experts, and scholarships to leading design schools.

Grant of the Week - Rural and Remote Nursing and Midwifery Professional Development (PD) Grant 2017

An initiative of The Country Women’s Association of Australia (CWAA), the  Rural and Remote Nursing and Midwifery Professional Development Grant is a study grant designed to increase the knowledge and skillset of rural and remote nurses and midwives.

Available to Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses or Midwives commencing a program of study, the successful applicants will receive up to $5,000.

Australian Anthill Cool Company Awards

The Australian Anthill Cool Company Awards promote and reward innovative and commercially creative businesses and will often improve office culture in the process-as well as great publicity and accolades!

Awards include the Innovation Award, the Micro-Business Award and the Savvy Service Provider Award (to name just 3) and will be judged on 6 criteria - Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Youthful Attitude, Reinvention, Creativity and The X-Factor.

Grant of the Week - 2018 Science and Innovation Awards

Grant applications are now open for the 2018 Science and Innovation Awards for Young People in Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

The grants benefit young scientists, researchers and innovators working on projects that will benefit Australia’s agricultural, fisheries and forestry industries.  

There are 11 categories open for applications including cotton, grains, fisheries & aquaculture, and viticulture.

Winners of their category may then apply for a Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources’ Award, to win funding for additional research.

Applications are open to young people between 18 and 35 years of age, who are working, employed or studying in agriculture, fisheries or forestry-related industries.

Engineers Australia Awards

Nominations are open for the Engineers Australia, Engineers Awards.

There are several awards open for available for nominations including the Graduate Electrical Power Engineer of the Year Award recognising a professional engineer with significant achievements in electrical power engineering, the Award for Engineering Education Research Design, and The Sir John Holland Award for Civil Engineer of the Year for engineering achievement

Grant of the Week - National Library of Australia Asia Study Grants

Researchers and scholars undertaking Asian-related research can apply for a study grant from the National Library of Australia.

Open to citizens and residents of Australia, the grant gives successful applicants privileged access to the Library's materials and facilities, as well as  a weekly honorarium to live in Canberra for up to 4 weeks.

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award

The AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award celebrates women in rural areas, and their achievements in business and their communities.

Each state and territory winner receives a $10,000 bursary for innovative ideas and projects, before a National winner is chosen.  The acclaimed awards offer successful women in rural areas a platform for their ideas and work, as well as access to a network of other champions in their field.

2018 applications are now open for to all women in rural areas here.
